Why They Love Pope Francis: Millennials Speak Up

Pope Francis has always been vocal about his love for the youth. He always makes sure to include in his speeches a few pieces of advice for the younger generation, and is even at times holding special events that aim to inspire and encourage the young ones. As such, we at My Pope went around to ask a few members of the youth why they love Pope Francis, and their answers turned out to be pretty interesting.   1. What’s the coolest thing you’ve heard that makes you feel close to Pope Francis?

The coolest thing that I’ve heard that makes me feel close to Pope Francis is that he is really focused in living a simple life and being an inspiration to others through kindness.

  1. What’s the first thing that pops into your head when you hear the Pope’s name and why?

The first thing that pops in my head when I hear the Pope’s name that he is a very humble person because he was there for the poor to help them know the word of God.

  1. What would you say to the Pope if you met him?

If I would meet the pope I would ask him to bless me with happiness and good health.

  1. What makes Pope Francis Relevant?

I think the relevance of Pope is he is an inspiration to many people. Himself created a big impact to their lives that surely made them the person they are now. And that, he will always stay in the heart of many people.

  1. What’s the first thing that pops into your head when you hear the Pope’s name and why?

The first thing that comes to my head when I hear the word/name Pope is a leader. A leader who set asides political and personal matters instead focus on the spiritual well-being of everybody. Someone who influence and inspires people in the best way he can for the betterment of every individual.

  1. What would you say to the Pope if you met him?

If I were to speak to the Pope, I would just like to congratulate and appreciate him for everything he has done. Not to me specifically but since I have deep regards to my fellow Catholic friends too. I am open to others belief as well as I wanted to learn too and to have him playing a big role to this learning experience.

  1. What inspires you the most about the Pope? How does this affect your life?

The Pope is an inspiring person because he lives by what he preaches. His love for humanity and being fair, protecting the earth, its people and the environment against capitalist exploitation made me follow the same ideology: that people and the environment are more important than profit.

  1. What makes Pope Francis relevant?

Pope Francis is relevant in the modern world because as a pope of a highly conservative and one of the oldest religions in the world, he seems pretty progressive. He is the model of compassion, values human lives whether they are catholic or not, and is an advocate for environmental protection.

  1. What would you do for the Pope and why?

Well, that’s a tough one. If given a chance, maybe I can make him coffee or tea, or maybe, carry his coat. Even then it would be an honor.
