Enjoy a hearty bowl of Corner Tree Café’s Vegetarian Laksa and dig into a plate of Spinach and Mushroom Lasagna. Miss meat? The Koftas in Tomato Sauce (whose “meatballs” are made of cauliflower and cabbage) and Baked Tofu Burger Steak (served with organic red rice) are sumptuous substitutes.

“We at Hummus Elijah are dedicated to your health through our commitment to excellent vegetarian cuisine,” says its website. “By avoiding animal products, we acknowledge the interconnectedness of environmental, spiritual, and physical well-being.” Try the Hummus Elijah with Falafel (chickpea spread with deep-fried chickpea balls, a salad and pita bread on the side), or order a refreshing Tabbouleh (parsley) Salad.



Yes, even Filipino food can be vegetarian—and you won’t even know the difference! Green’s Kare-kare, sisig, adobo, pinakbet, and embutido prove tasty and filling even to carnivores. Regulars like the quiet and unpretentious vibe of this Quezon City house-turned-restaurant.



For no-fuss, budget-friendly meatless dishes, Bodhi is it! This vegetarian fast-food joint found in many SM Malls offers a wide range of choices—from “pork barbecue” on a stick and asado to kare-kare with bagoong on the side—that are absolutely meat-free.



“We know how hard it is to be vegan in Manila,” says the Pipino website, “and we believe that vegans should be able to go into a restaurant without having to worry about having unwanted meat in their dishes.” Amen to that.
