The 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games organizers are under fire at the moment because of the way it’s handling the biennial sports competition. Football teams were forced to squeeze into coasters, delegates were brought to wrong hotels, and facilities are still not fully renovated.
People are calling out the organizers for not preparing well enough for such a grand event. Some say that they should have planned better since delegates from all over Southeast Asia would be coming to the country.
According to the event organizers, the inconveniences at the SEA Games are caused by late budget approval––an issue that could have been avoided by proper planning and steering away from procrastination.
Procrastination is when one puts off doing what they have to do, and in turn hurriedly tries to finish it in a short amount of time. More often than not, a procrastinator ends up with subpar work, or worse, not doing it at all.
There are a lot of reasons why you shouldn’t procrastinate. My Pope names some of them:
Procrastination leads you to pulling all-nighters just to finish what you have to do. We all know that we need at least seven hours of sleep every night to keep us functioning normally. It isn’t good for our bodies to be running on two hours of sleep, or worse, none at all. So, you should avoid procrastinating, and start taking care of your body more.
Better Work Results
Procrastinating means rushing to finish assigned work to reach the deadline. It usually ends up with your work being below-average—poorly-written papers or less than creative presentations. To avoid this, try to start doing your work as early as you can, and not on the night before it’s supposed to be submitted.
Rushed work = more stress. Doing work at the last minute can cause you more stress than when doing it earlier. The more stressed you are, the more you become tired and unproductive. What you can do is start the assigned work on time, so you wouldn’t get stressed even more.
