Maine Mendoza

In 2016, Maine set social media abuzz when she penned her blog entry, “That’s How it Works” where she vented her frustrations on how show business creates people-pleasers. She clapped back at industry insiders who pressured her to do what she felt was wrong simply to gain favor by writing, “I do not need and want to pretend to be someone I am not and do something I am not willing to do just to be loved and ‘accepted’ by the people in this ‘Barbie world.’  I would never change who I am just to conform to the norms of this industry. Sure, ‘that’s how it works’, but I am who I am, and it’s up to people if they will like me or not.” And guess what? Maine stuck to her stance and she’s doing better than ever! You do you, Maine!

Angel Locsin

Beloved by many, Angel is well-known for her sincere humility and generosity. She supports various advocacies and goes out of her way to help those in need. Take last year for instance, when Angel flew to Marawi to distribute food packs and school supplies, visiting the residents who escaped the armed conflict. She also dropped by evacuation centers to check on the state of the evacuees. This was not the only time she extended her help, either. She was in the thick of relief operations when Typhoon Ondoy swept through the country, and she even auctioned her vintage car for the victims of Yolanda. And while others said that her gestures are done simply for publicity, she does all this without media coverage and continues to keep a low profile by showing up without her bodyguards.

Coco Martin

With his top-rating teleserye, Ang Probinsyano, ruling the airwaves for three years, Coco Martin has indeed come a long way from being a struggling independent film actor. Despite it all, he did not let fame get to his head and just continued to live his life the way he always has—with gratitude. Coco put his family that the top of his list and is now on a mission to give back to show how thankful he is for all the blessings he’s received. “Sobra sobrang blessing ang binigay sa akin. Lahat naayos ko, ‘yung family ko, personal ‘kong buhay, hinahanda ko future ko, sabi ko, ‘ito naman ‘yung pagkakataon na i-share ko sa kapwa ko kung ano ‘yung mga sobra sobrang blessing na dumadating sa buhay ko,” he said in an interview.
